Q. What should I do to make my portfolio/Slide show on your site ?
You will have to register on our website and then create your folders and start uploading the pictures to them. Once you finish uploading you can just copy the link for the portfolio/slide show and email it to your friends and relatives, put the link on forums, message boards etc.
Q. Is my account restircted to certain bandwith ?
All the free accounts are restricted to a maximum usage of 1000 mb of bandwidth usage per month. If you wish to use more bandwidth you can upgrade you account to a paid plan, please contact support@picturerack.com for more details about the paid plans.
Q. Is my account restircted to certain space ?
All free accounts have a space restriction of 20 mb, you can have unlimited images uploaded in your space without any restriction, you can however add more space if you upgrade to our paid plan.
Q. Are my images resized when I upload them ?
No, we don't resize the images you upload, we retain the images in their original size and also create a smaller thumbnail to make it easy for you to manage them. We however recommend that you upload images upto a maximum of 750 pixels in width and 550 pixels in height to make them easily viewable. This will also save you a lot of space on your account.
Q. Can I have captions to my images ?
No, we currently don't support this feature.
Q. Will my account get cancelled without my notice if my images are too big or the constant hits to my pictures ?
No, we have restrictions where we allow limited upload sizes. So you will not be allowed to upload images beyond that size. On the constant hits, we will allow the pictures to display till the bandwidth of your account is not utilized, but if you exceed the bandwidth then the images will be replaced with a blank image which will not use any bandwidth.
Q. Are there any restictions to the file extensions to upload my images ?
Yes, we currently allow uploading of files with the extensions gif,png,jpeg,jpg,bmp.
Q. How can I let others know about my pictures which are hosted with you ?
We provide you with links to individual pictures and folders. These include links to the pictures, portfolio, gallery and slide show. You can use these links in your web pages, forums, auctions and message boards. You can also share them with your friends.
Q. What should I do if I want somebody to view my entire folder with the images in it ?
Every folder has three different features namely gallery, slideshow, portfolio. You can always copy the code or the link for the respective feature and provide it to others.
Q. What happens to my pictures if I delete a folder ?
Once a folder is deleted all the subfolders and pictures in it are deleted and cannot be restored.
Q. Can I restore images which were accidentally deleted ?
No, they cannot be restored.
Q. Will the pictures get deleted after some period of time from my account ?
If you are using the free upload feature without registration the pictures which are not accessed for the last 30 days will be deleted to recover the hard disk space.
Q. Can I upload adult pictures on my account ?
No, you cannot upload any adult pictures, your account will be terminated and legal action will be taken. You will be banned from the site forever.
Q. What can I do if my account exceeds the allocated bandwidth or diskspace ?
You can upgrade to a paid plan by paying a nominal fee per year and enjoy the advantage of having more space and bandwidth.
Q. Can I have multiple accounts ?
No, we don't allow multiple accounts for any individual in order to make this service available to all.
